December weekends are usually claimed by the first week of November, and the good autumn light goes even earlier.
A truck that carries Christmas
It is the shape people already picture when they think of a holiday card: a warm red body, a wooden bed deep enough for a real tree, and chrome that catches string lights. It arrives clean and photographs immediately.
- Christmas card sessions
- Families, couples, and dogs in the bed. Sessions usually run two to three hours, and several families can share one booking.
- Holiday markets and tree lots
- Parked as the centerpiece, loaded with crates, wreaths, or your product.
- Brand gift campaigns
- Stills and video for December launches, wrapped in your own art direction.
- Parties and receptions
- A backdrop guests line up for on their own, with no need for a photo booth.
October through November, in warmer ink
Dry grass, low sun, red paint.
Red reads differently against dry grass and turning leaves. The same truck that sells a Christmas card in December sells a harvest session in October, and Los Angeles gives you both seasons without the weather getting a vote.
- Harvest and pumpkin sessions
- Hay bales, crates, and pumpkins in the bed, shot on a ranch or in your own setup.
- Engagements and maternity
- A tailgate to sit on, and a body color that holds up in late light.
- Thanksgiving gatherings
- Parked for arrival photos at a home, venue, or winery.
- Autumn commercials
- Apparel, whiskey, coffee, outdoor gear. It runs, so it can be shot in motion.
October and November dates are open now. Check yours.

It wears other people's logos
Brands rent it for activations and campaigns and dress it however the art direction needs: vinyl on the doors, product in the bed, parked on a corner for a weekend. It comes back red.
- Converse
- Street activation on Sunset Boulevard
- Amazon Studios
- The Sheep Detectives lot event
- BOK Financial
- National brand campaign, 2024
Rebuilt about ten times
My dad and I have had this truck since I was a kid in Arkansas. He has taken it apart and put it back together roughly ten times. It left the factory green. It is red now, and it has been red longer than it was ever green.
It moved to Los Angeles because this is where a truck like this gets used instead of stored. It shows up with me, and I stay on set to move it, open the tailgate, and keep it out of your frame until you want it in the frame.

Questions people ask first
Anything not answered here goes in the form, and it comes back the same day.
- Does the truck run and drive?
- Yes. It is a running, registered 1972 Ford F-100. It drives to your location and can be shot in motion.
- Where in Los Angeles will it go?
- Anywhere in Los Angeles County. Ventura and Orange County work with enough notice. It is based in West Hills.
- What does it cost to rent?
- The day rate is $1,000. Session pricing is negotiable — tell us the hours you need and what you are shooting, and we will quote the session rather than the day.
- How far ahead should holiday dates be booked?
- Book December weekends by the first week of November. Autumn weekends in October usually go in September.
- Can it be shot inside a studio?
- Yes, if the studio has a roll-up door and ventilation. Send the door width and ceiling height and we will confirm the fit before you book.
- Does someone come with it?
- The truck arrives with its owner, who stays on set to position it and then stays out of your way.
- Can it arrive decorated?
- A tree, wreaths, and wooden crates can be arranged. Describe the look you want and we will tell you what is handled and what you should bring.
- What paperwork is available for permits and insurance?
- Ask and you get the vehicle paperwork and insurance certificate your permit office or production coordinator needs.
